Pruning Tomatoes

It’s getting hotter out there which means those tomatoes are growing big, and FAST! Tomato health is very important and there is an easy way to increase circulation, reduce diseases, and direct the plants energy toward producing fruit.

As the summer progresses, continue to remove diseased or insect damaged leaves and branches as well as suckers that are in the way.

Keep tomato plants off the soil by using trellises, arches, stakes, or cages. Use soft twine, cut up t-shirts, or garden velcro to lightly hold branches if needed.
